Human Tissues, Tumors, Blood and other Biospecimens

The use of ethically collected high quality human tissues is integral to finding and evaluating treatments for human diseases and understanding human biology. This is essential for biomarkers research and personalized medicine. Recognizing this critical need, for nearly two decades, ABS has developed a large network of human tissue banks. This virtual human tissue biobank is located mostly in the U.S. All tissues are collected with appropriate informed consent in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. We serve nearly all major pharmaceutical companies and our procedures have passed their close scrutiny.

Frozen, fresh, surgical and postmortem samples, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue blocks, blood plasma and serum and blood cells are all available from normal and disease tissues. Body fluids such as cerebrospinal and synovial fluid and urine are available. Disease tissues include: brains tissue for neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's and Parkinson disease tissues), diabetic tissues, and a wide range of cancer tumors (e.g., breast, lung, colon, and prostate tumors).

ABS offers a range of histology services and biobanking services. In addition, we can prepare primary cell cultures from many tissues.

ABS provides not only human tissue; but also an extensive array of human tissue derived bioreagents. These include: RNA, proteins, and subcellular fractions such as cell membranes and mitochondria. The following pages list some of these offerings. However, please remember that we can provide much more on a custom basis often for no more than our standard pricing.

Please note that availability of human biospecimens is limited. Using our large human tissue biobank, we do our best to quickly fulfill your requests.

A Material Transfer Agreement that is signed by an institutional representative with appropriate authority to do so is required prior to the transfer of any human biospecimens to researchers.
